Art for All
By Sunrise Group on March 31, 2015
Guess what today is? … Nope, not the camel inspired one — it’s National Crayon Day! (And it’s not just for kids anymore!) Yep, it turns out coloring can be beneficial for adults — namely for its de-stressing power. The practice generates wellness, quietness and also stimulates brain areas related to motor skills, the senses and creativity. Art therapy can achieve different results for people with a wide range of abilities. For example, it can be used for counseling by therapists, healing, treatment, rehabilitation, and psychotherapy, among others. And the best news…. one needn’t be talented or an artist to receive the benefits of art therapy. So, celebrate the day with a bucket full of crayolas!

Jaime Arreola, an 18 year old art student at the Robert Morgan Education Center magnate art program, donated a larger-than-life mural to the staff and visitors at Sunrise’s Corporate Headquarters in Miami. This installment is the second of Arreola’s impressive donations to Sunrise. Jaime worked on the mural over the course of the summer months when he was out of school. “It’s huge… it is absolutely spectacular,” Kathy Childs, Division Vice President. Thank you, Jaime!
