Sunrise Corporate University: Just one of the many benefits
The mission of Sunrise University is to continuously improve employee job performance and advancement opportunities through mastery of knowledge and skills while supporting the organization in achieving its strategic priorities. Sunrise University is an internal, corporate university dedicated to meeting the needs of employees and Sunrise Community.
The University focuses on leadership development and the advancement of Direct Support employees. We develop leaders within the organization through the Sunrise University leadership course, a three-day Leadership Institute seminar, webinars and ongoing coaching.
A four-tier advancement program for Direct Support employees is at the core of meeting the needs of employees who work directly with individuals with disabilities. Direct Support employees advance to higher levels by job performance, years of service and completion of courses through Sunrise University and other local and national education providers.
In 2008, Sunrise Community was presented with an Exemplary Practice Award at the 9th Annual Corporate University Xchange (CorpU) Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning. Sunrise Community earned the recognition in the Launching category for achievements of its newly formed Sunrise University, no small feat considering the competition. Others receiving awards included MasterCard, Boeing, Schwan Foods, Staples, and Farmer’s Insurance.
