When UCP of Greater Hartford opens Camp Harkness on June 24th, later this month, they will be welcoming ten (10) first-time counselors! And while the counselors may be new to Camp Harkness, they are not new faces for any of our campers. Most of the 2013 class of new counselors are also part of Eastern Connecticut State University’s Volunteer Program. ECSUs Volunteer Program is run by our very own Camp Coordinator, Peter Cavanagh!!

On Friday, September 7, 2012, Hamilton’s Finest Sunstrand Local 743 Machinists donated a day of professional services as part of United’s Way’s “Day of Caring”. There were twenty-nine dedicated and compassionate machinists who provided extensive landscaping, exterior and interior painting along with “handyman repairs” like installing a new basketball hoop for the individuals receiving services in Hartford. On behalf of the individuals and families we serve as well as our staff, our deepest appreciation goes out to Hamilton’s Sunstrand Local 743 Machinists.
