The 2012 regular session begins on January 10 and the battle lines have been clearly drawn. This session will not only decide the extent to which people with disabilities have to deal with more cuts but may also decide whether community services continue to exist as we have known them since the 1970s.

Mr. Ross joined Sunrise in 2009 and has over 30 years of experience servicing persons with disabilities. He serves as Sunrise’s Vice President for External Affairs. Previously he has held positions such as Executive Director for the Association for Retarded Citizens and Assistant Secretary for Development Services (now APD).
Mr. Ross has worked in Rhode Island and Florida and served as a consultant to many organizations including the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities and for organizations in Belize and Trinidad. He holds a Master’s degree in Sociology.
